FOR THE LOVE OF HEZBOLLAH

An Australian friend of mine sent a link to a very interesting article about Hezbollal published by the Sydney Anglican.

The U.S. media does a good job of telling the public what is happening, but it does a pretty poor job of telling the public why something is happening. This is a good alternative.

DR DINO NEWS

By some weird blip of the radar, the majority of people who reach this site via Google find it because they misspell Kent Hovind's name by spelling it as "Kent Hoven." In fact, this website is the number three site on the web for people who misspell Kent Hovind's name.

Because of the anomaly, I view it as my solemn obligation to occasionally post a little information about what this Creation Science juggernaut is up to.

SALT

The preparations of the heart belong to man,
But the answer of the tongue is from the Lord.

All of the ways of a man are pure in his own eyes,
But the Lord weighs the spirits.

Commit your works to the Lord,
And your thoughts will be established.

The Lord has made all for himself,
Yes, even the wicked for the day of doom.

Every proud heart is an abomination to the Lord;
Though they join forces, none will go unpunished.

In mercy and truth atonement is provided for iniquity;
And by the fear of the Lord one departs from evil.

When a man's ways please the Lord,
He makes even his enemies to be at peace with him.

Better is a little with righteousness,
Than vast revenues without justice.

A man's heart plans his way,
But the Lord directs his steps.

Proverbs 16:1-9 (NKJV)

1950s MIZZOU LOGO

While going through some of my Grandma's old stuff, we found a deck of cards that she bought during her days at Mizzou in the early 1950's. GGrrrrrrr! Unfortunately, there weren't any Jayhawks on the joker cards.

The Tiger has kind of wimped out in his old age. Today the Tiger mascot is usually presented like this.

While I'm at it, I thought I would post a link to the best Campus Ministry at Mizzou.

KITSCH CHRISTIANITY

After I saw the website listing the 7 Deadly Gummy Sins, I thought I might create a presentation of the fruits of the spirit using gummy bears. However, after I took about three pictures I thought that the whole project was just too, too stupid and trite to continue.

In case anyone else is tempted to try, I thought I would try to post one of the pictures to show what a terrible, irreverent idea it is. I won't even reveal what "fruit of the spirit" I was trying to convey with this configuration.
For a real discourse on the fruits of the spirit, go here.

Or here.

DONALD MILLER FANS

I know I haven't been writing very much lately. I've been pretty busy. If you have a hankering to read something, take a look at donmillerfans.net. I find the section titled "Don Answers your ???s" the most interesting.

WORLD'S SMALLEST DECK

I found a copy of the world's smallest deck of cards while going through some of my grandma's old stuff. In tiny letters on the lid it says it was made by a company called Cosmo in Hong Kong. Unfortunately, there are no jokers, so the world's smallest game of pitch it out.

BACK FROM COLORADO

Hey folks!  I've just returned from a week in Colorado and a week in K.C.  I'll put up a new post soon.
