Last night at the Singapore Slingers vs. the Philippines' Tender, Juicy Giants (a Purefoods team) basketball game, the crowd of mostly Filipinos was cheering for their home country's team.
After one close call the Filipinos began throwing items onto the court, booing the Slinger girls, and shaking the stadium with their roaring shouts.
However, there were a few people there cheering on the Slingers, and the most notable fan was Gurmit Singh.
If you're not Singaporean, you might not know that Gurmit is one of the few homegrown celebrities that Singapore has to offer. He is a Mediacorp television host and star of the now finished Pha Chu Kang sitcom series. He was happy to take pictures with his adoring fans.
By the way, the Slingers won with a 92-84 victory over the Giants.
