JAPANESE BULLET TRAIN CONDUCTOR

This mysterious conductor was sticking his head outside the window of a Japanese bullet train. I'm not sure if he was sick or if he wanted to avoid eating insects.

With all due respect, I wonder if YOU have served any form of service to your country? I wonder what gives you the right to tell people not to complain unless you have served 2 years or more in a similar experience. If you are a volunteer in any recognised military force, then I stand corrected.

To answer your question, at 18-20, I would be three-quarters towards obtaining my Bachelor of Accountancy and start work at age 21-22. This will probably result in my achieving my current position 2 years earlier.

You can bring people together WITHOUT national service. Yes, there are benefits of going through NS. For one, I stopped complaining about my mother's home cooking after I enlisted. I also learnt more about physical fitness and taking care of myself.

But I also saw a regular Sergeant DIE when his SM-1 tank overturned. He was all of 25 years old. But he was a regular so he volunteered for the risks.

The point is, you can DIE for your mandatory service.

I am living in Singapore and the not the US. Perhaps you should follow @BarackObama on twitter and suggest to him to reinstate the draft?

You may want to rethink your views on telling people not to complain. Next time you complain about something, perhaps you'll be reminded of your own stance.

Majullah Singapura.

Serving for the NS is an honor. We cannot help, but die for our country. True, it may kill us, but we will leave a legacy (could be emotions) to Singaporeans. If you, PanzerGrenadier, would not want Singapore to let its army die one by one, I suggest you come up with a robot army like in Star Wars(Separatist Droid Army).

So, what's your answer? You can't build that? *Gasps* We are humans and need to die.

Benefits to NS:
1. We get paid. (Can use it for our college for a start rather than just working and paying a huge sum for the loans)

2. We can find our inner being. We can ponder on ourselves and to see what we really are.

3. We can find anwsers like what would we do in a life and die situation.

4. We can get more manly.

5. We get excercise while getting paid!

6. Our minds can focus instead of bursting like a balloon, or like scattering glass.

You see, NS may not be fun and may wast time, but for those whom have dropped out of school may use NS as a job after the two years.

Yes, I know Singapore is a velnerable country, but we grew by trade. If we cannot protect ourselves, who will. Now, I know that Singapore has peace treaties with most countries in the world, but (I regret saying this) we are "KAYPOS"(Busybodies). One wrong move, it's a conflict.

Just ponder this saying:

"It is a great honor to live for one's country, but it is a greater honor to die for one's country."
